Good Friday Service

2010 Annual Theological Conference: March 19-20: March 19, 7-9:30 pm; March 20, 9 am-12:30 pm.
Topic: Joshua--From Exile to Enthronement
Speaker: The Reverend William R. Smith, Pastor of Community Presbyterian Church (PCA), Louisville, KY
The conference is free, and will be followed by a Family Dance Ball at 6:00 p.m. Saturday evening for conference attendees only. See info below.
Conference will be held at: Cornerstone Reformed Church, 801 North Almond, Carbondale

You are cordially invited to the Cornerstone Conference
Ball on Saturday, the twentieth of March, from six to half-past nine in the evening.

A practice dance will be held in the afternoon from two until four,
for the opportunity of learning several of the dances.

The Ball is for Conference attendees only. Please do not invite your friends who do not attend the conference.

Admittance Fee: To be paid at the door
$10.00 For Singles or Couples
$20.00 For a Family

Address: Newman Catholic Student Center, 715 South Washington, Carbondale, IL. Directions to the dance can be found in the church foyer on Friday night and Saturday morning during the conference.

Dances: We will be dancing at least two new dances, along the favorites: Cornerstone Contra Confusion, the Fairfield Fancy, the Gay Gordon, the Gay Gordon Polka, Mr. Beverage’s Maggot, the Patty Cake Polka, the Posties Jig, the Spanish Waltz, and the Virginia Reel.

Attire: Formal- Please dress to the glory of God.
Ladies: Some guidelines are: no strapless, spaghetti straps, low necklines or backless. Please use good judgment and dress with modesty and ease of movement in mind. As the host of the ball, we reserve the right to ask that you wear a covering if your dress is deemed immodest.
Gentlemen: Please wear your best, such as a suit or dress shirt with tie (ties throughout the evening). No jeans/sneakers/sloppiness.

Etiquette
The gentleman should ask the lady to dance.
A lady who is seated indicates that she does not to wish to dance.
After a dance, the gentleman should lead his partner from the dance floor.
It is the gentlemen’s duty to ensure that every lady has the opportunity to dance.
Gentlemen may only dance with the same lady twice, unless married, engaged, courting, or related.


Neighborhood Block Party: September 18, 2010 (tentative), 5-7:00 p.m.

FallFest: Saturday, October 16 (tentative), beginning with dinner at 5:00 pm and skits and performances at 6:30 pm. Hosted by the Akins.

Thanksgiving Service: Sunday evening before Thanksgiving (November 21, 2010)

Neighborhood Christmas Caroling: First or Second Tuesday in December, 6:30-8:00 p.m.

Christmas Service: Sunday Evening before Christmas
